Work-Based Learning
Work-Based Learning is a program within the Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Department that provides students with the opportunity to learn a variety of skills by expanding the classroom into the community and narrowing the gap between theory and practice through rigorous academic preparation with hands-on career development experiences. Through WBL experiences, students are afforded the opportunity to connect classroom instruction to the world of work and future career opportunities.

Hello! My name is Ann Miller, I am the work-based learning/career center instructional leader. I was born and raised in Minnesota. My mother was a teacher and she instilled in me my natural ability to work with children and young adults. I love seeing the light bulb come on and the joy a student has when they have their "aha moment". I attended North Dakota State University and received my AA degree in Infant and Toddler Development and my Bachlors of Science degree in Child Development and Family relations. I have a Masters in Education from Troy University in Instructioal Technology. I have three grown children and four active grandchildren. There is never a dull moment when they all come to "Muka's" House. We currently live on Jackson Lake, where we love to spend time on the water and love to camp.
I have had the pleasure of teaching in Henry county in the Career Technology Agriculture Eduction (CTAE) program for over 20 years. In CTAE sudents gain valuable real-world knowledge in a CTAE pathway. They are exposed to various career opportunities and technical skills. In WBL the student will expand and develope thier hands-on skills through a work force job, internship or youth apprenticeship placement. Students will gain valuable work experience and proven job skills.
